You’ve made the big move to Nice but once the excitement settles, it’s easy to feel a little stuck. You’re not a tourist, but you don’t quite feel integrated either.
You want to feel part of local life but speaking in another language makes that connection much more difficult.
Apps and lessons will get you so far, but real conversations are different. You try to speak but then you might not understand the reply. Confidence quickly drops, and it’s easier to stay quiet, and stick with other expats.

A Different Way to Learn
This is real-life language practice, built around conversation, connection, and shared experiences in Nice.
We’ve created a bilingual community in Nice, a membership for English and French learners who want to feel confident communicating so they can enjoy life in cosmopolitan Nice to the fullest.
Each event has a structure, with time shared between English and French, so everyone practises both languages in a balanced way.
A fresh monthly theme keeps things interesting and the locations vary too, from cafés to city walks to creative hidden corners.
Along the way, you’ll meet some of the people who bring Nice to life: artisans, creatives, and local legends. These immersive, real-world encounters make language practice meaningful and fun.

The Monthly Challenge
A flexible activity to deepen your language and cultural connection.
This can be a solo or pair challenge to explore the theme for yourself and share your findings with the group. It could involve a bit of exploring, research, or creativity. You’re encouraged to do this at your own pace and in your own way, without pressure.
Language Resources
Relevant, practical, tailor-made materials are available each month to help you talk about the theme in English and French.
Members receive exclusive downloadable materials at the start of each month.

Stay connected between meet-ups in our welcoming online community. Share your experiences, ask questions, get quick language tips, and inspire (and be inspired by) fellow members.

July membership rate: €24/month
From September 2026, the standard membership rate for new members will be €36/month.
Included each month:
- 4 in-person meet-ups each month (a mix of social exchanges and themed activities)
- Exclusive, custom-made language resources to help you make the most of each month’s theme
- Access to our private members’ online community for extra support and connection between events
You’ll receive a welcome pack and the full event schedule by email after sign-up.

FAQs
Do I need to be fluent to join?
No — it’s an English/French exchange for learners, so ideally you should speak one of the two languages fluently and for the other you should at least be able to hold basic conversations (A2 or above), but we don’t expect perfection! If you aren’t sure contact Clare and ask for a chat and she will advise.
Can I come to just one event to try it out?
Yes! You can either try a Walk & Talk which take place once a month and are free to join (you can sign up on the Events page) or you can sign up for a single month of the membership.
Are the events 50/50 in French and English?
We aim for a natural balance. Each event is lightly structured to ensure both languages are practised equally.
Do you provide lessons or corrections?
This isn’t a classroom — but Clare and the rest of the group offer support (it works more like an exchange). Each month learning resources are provided, plus tips for self-study and plenty of encouragement to help you improve as you go.
If you’re looking for traditional lesson, this isn’t for you.
What happens if I miss an event?
Missed events aren’t refunded, but there are four events per month, so hopefully you can attend the other three, plus you’ll still have access to the resources and monthly challenge.
Why a monthly subscription and not a per-class system?
Because the goal is long-term practice and belonging, not just drop-in lessons. A monthly model gives continuity, keeps motivation high, and makes it easier to build connections in the group.
What if I need to pause or stop?
No problem — you can cancel at any time, and rejoin later.
How does the monthly payment cycle work?
When you join, your first payment is taken straight away, and your membership runs for one full month from that date. After that, payments are renewed automatically on the same day each month (for example, if you join on the 15th, your next payment will be on the 15th of the following month).
This way, you always get a full month of membership — no matter when you start.
Can I cancel my subscription easily if I need to?
Yes — you’re always in control. Before each monthly renewal, Stripe sends you an automatic reminder email. If you decide to stop, you can cancel your membership online with just a couple of clicks, and no further payments will be taken.
