Hello, I’m Clare Catchpole, founder of English in Nice / Nice en Français. For my first blog, I’d just like to welcome you aboard and give you a taster of what’s in the run up to the September launch.
English in Nice / Nice en Français is a new membership for adult learners of English and French, who want to get fluent as part of a supportive bilingual community experiencing the best of Nice together.
This membership will kick off in September, offering special promotional prices for founding members. However, there are limited places available, so make sure you sign up to the mailing list to ensure you are the first to hear when the membership goes live!
Free Summer Meet-Ups
If you can’t wait until September, over the summer there are free to join meet-ups taking place! Sign up to our Facebook Group where the bilingual community spirit is already in full swing!
I’m planning more Summer “rencontres” in July and August so don’t miss out… What’s more, everyone in the Facebook group is invited to contribute ideas for the next meet-up.
What We’ve Been Up To in June
In June, we visited La Baleine, an exhibition as part of the recent United Nations Oceans Conference 2025 in Nice. More recently we had a wonderful morning “Stroll and Sip” on the Promenade.
Nice to Meet You!
I’m Clare, originally from Suffolk, England I’ve lived in Nice since 2014. I’m primarily an English teacher, but also a violinist, and life-long lover of language learning.
Over the years I’ve listened to my students who are looking for opportunities to practice speaking English more regularly. I’ve also met plenty of international residents who would love to practice their French.
This membership is my answer, bringing together the adult English and French learners in Nice in a supportive, friendly community.
About the Membership
The aim of English in Nice / Nice en Français is to give adult French and English learners a way to confident communication, with the mutual support of a friendly bilingual community.
No classrooms, no course books, just Nice itself, which we explore and enjoy together in conversation, and in great company.
